Our Mission:

To Improve the Lives of People Living with Mood Disorders by Providing Self-Help Support Groups and Educating the Public About These Treatable Medical Disorders.

Our goals:

  • Working directly with people who have mood disorders, and with their family and friends
  • Improving the recognition, early detection and diagnosis of depression and bipolar mood disorders as treatable medical illnesses
  • Decreasing stigma and increasing understanding of mood disorders so the rights of people with mood disorders are protected
  • Expanding peoples' ability to receive treatment and working with health care professionals to improve their care
  • Helping people with mood disorders successfully manage their illnesses
  • Advancing research to improve treatment options

2008 Certified Peer Specialist Training will be held Mon. Dec 8 to Fri. Dec 12 at the Community Clinical Research Building in Austin, Texas. For full details, please download the CPS application here.


Applications must be received by Nov. 15, 2008.
